Our half-day walks are ideal introductions to walking & trekking in Sa Pa. They are particularly good for those guests who have just arrived in Sa Pa.
cat cat village
At Cat Cat Village, look out for
tubs of indigo dye used to colour the hemp cloth used in the traditional
Black H'mong dress. Cat Cat Waterfall is just below the village and only a short walk.
For longer walks in this area there are two main options. From near the
waterfall, a path takes you up a series of steep concrete steps,
circling part of the valley, before dropping down hill towards a
bridge. The road then climbs back up the hill towards Sa Pa town. If you
don’t fancy the walk back up the hill, motorbikes are available to
transport you back to the hotel. |
cat cat & sin chai villages
Sin Chai is another Black H'mong village further on from Cat Cat. After
an hour or so of walking, the main paved road becomes a dirt path: this
is the beginning of Sin Chai Village. Look out for the water buffalo
taking their afternoon bath!
Sin Chai and Cat Cat Village can be
combined into a full day trek and extended to take in Silver Waterfall and Tran
Phrom Pass
Ta Phin Village
ta phin is situated in the northeast of Sa Pa and is home to the
Red Dao minority. Here you can also visit Ta Phin Cave, one of the most
beautiful caves in the Sa Pa region. If you don’t want to walk to Ta Phin Village, we also
arrange half-day trips travelling by minibus, motorbike or jeep.
